The Impressions Jazz Quintet: jazz with a Ukrainian character
The jazz quintet “Impressions” – is a popular musical project founded by well-known and talented Ukrainian musicians to promote jazz culture in Ukraine and Ukrainian culture – in the world. Its members are:
- Pavlo Ilnytskyi, vocalist, informally called “the Lviv Frank Sinatra”;
- Dennis Adu, trumpet;
- Oleksandr Malyshev, piano;
- Mykola Kistenyov, double bass and bass- guitar;
- Yaroslav Borys, drums and percussion.
The musicians believe that in dark times culture is a light of hope, especially for those who have experienced the horrors of war. After all, jazz – is the music of freedom, the music of free people. And in the jazz arrangement, Sting will sound more emotional and powerful.
