The legendary band “Odin v kanoe” embarks on a nationwide tour. It’s a great opportunity to reconnect with music that doesn’t need loud special effects to stay in your heart. Their soft, piercing indie rock sounds very personal because it intertwines folk, ethnic motifs, electronics, and the power of simple yet truthful words. Don’t miss it!
Music beyond the rules
The story of the band “Odin v kanoe” began in Lviv in 2010. Initially, it was a company of seven musicians united by the desire to play differently from others. Over time, the lineup changed and the musical search continued. As a result, only three remained – vocalist and songwriter Iryna Shvaydak, guitarist Ustym Pokhmursky, and percussionist Ihor Dzikovskyi.
“Odin v Kanoe” did not follow the path of the traditional show-business. The band has no producer or commercial director – musicians independently handle rehearsals, repertoire, and organizational matters. They do not chase the quantity of releases or the loudness of promo campaigns but carefully approach each song. That is why their music, whose main principle is the phrase “strength in simplicity”, remains intimate, honest, and recognizable.
Odin v kanoe: a concert like a modern house concert
A “Odin v kanoe” live performance – is not about a large-scale stage show at all. The voice, instrumental performance, and words remain paramount here. That is why their concerts resemble a big house concert where almost no distance remains between the musicians and the audience. Here songs that have gathered millions of streams on streaming platforms sound different. During the nationwide tour concerts “Odin v kanoe” you will be able to enjoy favorite compositions:
- “I Have No Home”;
- “Boat”;
- “Promise Me”;
- “Be Someone to Me”;
- “One Man in the Field Is a Warrior;
- “Sky”;
- “Demons” and others.
This is music for moments when you don’t want to rush anywhere. You can just listen, catch familiar lines, sway to the rhythm, and allow yourself to set aside all unnecessary thoughts for a while. It’s this atmosphere that makes one want to return to “Odin v kanoe” concerts.
