There are stories capable of taking you back to times when youth seemed endless and any- adventure could become a lifetime journey. This is exactly the play “I, “Pobeda” and Berlin” by the Maria Zankovetska Theater, created based on the autobiographical novella of Kuzma Skryabin (Andriy Kuzmenko). Come and enjoy this atmospheric and so life-affirming story.

The journey of the old “Pobeda”

The play “I, “Pobeda” and Berlin” – is a provocative theatrical road-movie. It has everything: humor, music, nostalgia for the 90s-, absurd situations, dreams of Europe, and the wild energy of youth. The production has already gained recognition – last year it became a laureate of the National Theater Award “GRA”.

According to the plot, the main character receives an adventurous offer to go to Berlin to profitably sell an antique car. The plan seemed simple: get in the car, cross the border, reach Germany, and return with good money. But the road turns into a series of funny, absurd, and sometimes completely hopeless situations. The hero gets into one trouble after another, and the ordinary trip gradually turns into a real adventure.

On stage comes alive the atmosphere of the “wild” 90s: sweaters with BOYS inscriptions, lacquered pompadours, queues at borders, shortages, first contacts with the Western world, and the dream to at least glance once beyond the “iron curtain”. All this is presented with the trademark irony and self-irony so well known to Kuzma's fans.

Kuzma, music, and nostalgia for carefree youth

“I, “Pobeda” and Berlin” – is not just a comedy about a failed trip. It is a kind of meeting with an old friend who recalls his adventures, takes a guitar – into his hands, and suddenly familiar melodies take the viewer back to another time.

The play is filled with music, live emotions, and humor behind which lies warm nostalgia. Youth is shown here as it really is: wild, mischievous, a bit senseless, but incredibly alive.

This is an opportunity to laugh at the hero's adventures, recognize the spirit of the era in them, and at the same time recall your own dreams, mistakes, and adventures. And “Pobeda”, which stubbornly refuses to go, becomes perhaps the brightest symbol of this story. Come and embark on a wild journey with the heroes without leaving the theater hall.
